Day of the Wed

Last weekend I got to participate in Seattle’s first Wedding Preview Event. Unlike a traditional wedding show, teams of vendors worked together to actually put together a wedding, complete with a fake bride and groom! Under the direction of our team’s fabulous leader, Megan Keller from a Kurant Event, we set up a Day-of-the-Dead- inspired reception, filled with bright colors and ornate details. For menus, escort cards, and other paper details, I created a colorful sugar scull and abstracted flower motif. I also cut patterned corners to create the feel of lace. All of the beautiful photos are from Latasha Haynes Photography. Latasha and her husband Isaiah are such a talented team, and just so much fun to work with! The lovely head table, with menus and place cards (flowers by Paula, at Paisley Petals):

Other reception tables had numbers in gold frames, and menus that listed the vendors on the back:

My favorite part of what my contribution was definitely the escort card installation (beautiful blue doors and candles were also provided by Paisley Petals) :
