Angie is such a fun bride to work with. She knew she wanted bright colors, and an invitation suite that focused on FUN for their wedding in Hawaii. So we started with the shape of Oahu, and added just that: color and fun. The suite is offset printed, on 110lb cotton paper.
I created an illustration of two palm trees forming a heart, which we repeated on the RSVP postcard:
For the RSVP, we created space for each guest to write their name, as well as their “favorite shave ice flavor”, and “favorite dance song” (did I mention how fun this bride is?):
Brooke and Edward are using their wedding as a celebration of the combination of their Jewish and Nez Perce heritage. Finding ways to reflect this marriage of cultures in their wedding invitations was such an interesting process that we embarked on together.
We used wheat grasses to symbolize the Palouse landscape, contrasting colors to represent the couple, a quote from each culture, and wove in an eagle feather and Star of David. The map continues the theme, while using additional symbols of meaning to Brooke and Edward.
I love B & E’s modern yet playful aesthetic, and am so glad I got to be a part of this project!
